Body Treatments

Living in California is a wonderful thing… however, it comes with a price. Constant UV exposure can lead to sun damage which makes you look older than your actual age. This paired with the aging process and changes in our body composition can also lead to loose and sagging skin, stretch marks, and cellulite. Combined these processes can age people well beyond their years. All of these are things that make men and women more self-conscious. The good news is that Gravity Med Spa has the necessary technology and expertise to help you turn back the clock and regain that youthful look without the need for surgery.

Due to advances in technology over the past several decades, various machines have come on the market that can help you improve the tone and texture of your body without resorting to surgeries. Using techniques such as Endermologie, Coolsculpting, and radio frequency skin resurfacing and tightening we can help achieve a smoother and more contoured appearance to your body and help you find your youth again!

You too can have beautiful, toned skin from head to toe!

It all begins with a complimentary consultation and evaluation.

Sun Damage

The tell tale signs of sun damage of the skin include, but are not limited to, the following: dry skin, a leathery texture to the skin, “sunspots”, erythema (redness) of the skin, and of course fine lines and wrinkles. Three of the best non surgical treatments for sun damaged skin on the body are fractional non-ablative lasers, and intense pulse light (IPL).

Fractional lasers work below the skin’s surface, producing thousands of tiny columns of microscopic treatment zones, leaving the surrounding skin unaffected. Following the treatment, the body’s natural healing process creates new healthy tissue to replace skin imperfections and removes unwanted sunspots and hyperpigmentation. This “fractional” treatment approach allows the skin to heal much faster than if all the skin was treated at once. This is in contrast to ablative lasers which damage the skin evenly in all areas, resulting in more downtime and discomfort after the procedure. Using the fractional technology, healing time is substantially reduced and discomfort is similarly improved since there is a lesser invasion of the skin surface.

Intense Pulse Light (IPL) technology uses high intensity pulses of visible light to improve the appearance of aged and sun damaged skin. Much like q-switched lasers short bursts of light are used to break up the pigment in affected areas. IPL is a bit more versatile than the q-switched laser and can also be used to treat not only sun spots but can be used for treatment of erythema (redness) of the skin, hair removal, dark congenital pigment spots, and stubborn unsightly veins.

Skin tightening for loose, sagging skin and stretch marks

Part of the natural aging process is the breakdown of collagen below the skin level. As collagen is broken down, the skin loses its elasticity and becomes loose and “floppy”.   Stretch marks are caused by dramatic or rapid weight gain or loss. This condition particularly affects women after pregnancy. These marks appear as long red or purple scars on the stomach, hips, thighs, breasts, buttocks, even the arms. While it is true that stretch marks can fade with time or through the use of various creams and lotions, they will never fully disappear. To improve stretch marks and issues of skin laxity, there are multiple modalities to help stimulate collagen synthesis that can help you regain the elasticity in skin and achieve a more toned and supple appearance.

Radio Frequency technology has emerged as one of the most effective means of non-surgically improving the tone of skin. By applying the device to the skin and allowing for penetration to the dermal layer using very small pins, the machine is able to deliver thermal energy to the deeper layers below the skin, thus stimulating collagen and elastin synthesis. By doing so, it is possible to create a tighter and more toned appearance without the need for surgical intervention.

Fractional non-ablative lasers are one of the most effective treatments for stretch marks available today without resorting to surgical removal of the stretch marks. By resurfacing the tissue in the area of the stretch mark, patients can expect an improvement in the texture and vertical height of the stretch marks, giving you a more even-toned skin surface. Radiofrequency technology, used in conjunction with fractional lasers, can also further help to tighten the skin and improve some of the skin laxity often associated with stretch marks, giving you a more toned appearance.

In some cases, lasers and other machines are not the best option and surgical intervention may be required to tighten the skin or remove stretch marks. If a patient is not a suitable candidate for nonsurgical methods of skin tightening in the torso, we do offer a full complement of surgical options to help you achieve the look you desire through Chugay Cosmetic Surgery Clinic Inc. Broken capillaries and spider veins

Spider veins (also known as telangectasias) are small dilated blood vessels near the surface of the skin. Although they can occur anywhere on the body, they most commonly occur on the face around the nose and in legs. These unsightly vessels can make wearing shorts and skirts embarrassing. However, we are here to tell you that there are solutions and we can help! Gravity offers various therapies to fight your spider veins and broken capillaries. From YAG and IPL laser treatment to sclerotherapy (injections of specialized agents in the skin to collapse veins), we offer a wide range of options to help get your legs looking your best and make you proud to wear your favorite short skirt or pair of board shorts. Cellulite

Cellulite (also known as adiposis edematosa) is the herniation of subcutaneous fat within fibrous connective tissue that is manifested as skin dimpling and nodularity. Commonly affecting the buttocks and thighs, cellulite is a condition that tends to be more common in females (90% of patients) and is likely due to a hormonal component. Despite aggressive exercise and a healthy diet, there is no regimen that can eliminate cellulite. Cellulite makes even the most confident woman second guess wearing short skirts and shorts; however, there is good news! Gravity Med Spa provides you with many options to help improve the appearance of cellulite. While we cannot guarantee a complete disappearance of cellulite or offer a permanent cure, there are many options to help improve the dimpled and lumpy skin that might be preventing you from fully enjoying these warm California evenings.

How can you treat cellulite?

There are many creams and lotions that promise to “cure” cellulite. Sadly, no cure exists for this condition. However, there are ways to improve the appearance of cellulite and give you legs that you can be proud of.

Weight loss through caloric restriction and exercise is one of the easiest ways to potentially improve cellulite. Not only can you see an improvement in your cellulite, but you will also likely see an improvement in your energy levels and self-confidence. For more information on how Gravity Med Spa can help you lose weight please see our various options for weight loss.

Tretinoin cream is an option for the treatment of cellulite. This cream applied twice daily to the affected area has been shown to modestly improve the appearance of cellulite after treatment for approximately 6 months.

Radiofrequency (RF) therapy is another treatment option for the management of cellulite. By heating the tissues at the dermal level, collagen synthesis can be stimulated and the appearance of cellulite improved. While it does take 4-6 treatment sessions to achieve a result, patients are often very excited by the significant improvement in the appearance of their legs. Although an improvement can be seen with RF therapy, it is still not a cure. Patients will need to maintain the results achieved with treatment sessions in the future, typically spaced at 1-3 month intervals.

Body Contouring

Since the dawn of time, sculptors and painters alike have tried to depict the human form. Oftentimes, however, they depicted the human form in an idealistic manner. Rather than having the ideal human form, many of us have something that we can point at as being a “stubborn area” or an area that just doesn’t look as good as we would like. It is for that reason that we offer a full complement of body contouring procedures to help you look your best and get beach ready.

Despite attempts at betterment through physical activity and weight training, some men and women are unable to achieve their desired outward appearance. For that reason, they present to a cosmetic surgeon or med spa for a host of procedures aimed at improving body contour. Liposuction has ranked in the top five procedures performed by men and women for the past several years. However, not everyone is ready for a surgery and not everyone is ready for the downtime required to achieve those results.

If you are longing for that more sculpted body and have been unable to achieve it, we may be able to help. We offer many non-surgical options for body contouring along with a full complement of surgical options should you need a more aggressive approach to treating some of your problem areas. Whether your problem is stubborn fat, cellulite, or loose skin, we can help.

One such procedure is our Physiq body contouring treatments.

Coolsculpting

Coolsculpting reduces fat through a controlled cooling process called cryolipolysis. CoolSculpting crystallizes fat cells and initiates a process of natural fat removal. No incisions, anesthesia, or recovery time are required. There is no downtime and results are noticeable within two to four months. The results are permanent and patients typically see a reduction in fat content in the treated area of up to 20-25%!

Liposuction

Liposuction is an invasive treatment that removes stubborn pockets of fat via small stab incisions that are the width of a pen. Healthy patients committed to regular exercise and who are within 30 pounds of their ideal weight are ideal candidates for liposuction.

VASER (Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance) liposuction uses ultrasound energy to help heat the innermost structures of the skin, causing the skin to contract over time, leaving the treated area smoother and tighter, with a more pleasing result than traditional liposuction.

Liposuction can help remove fat from many areas of the body including the stomach, love handles, upper back and bra area, upper arms, thighs, waist and hips, inner knees, and neck while tightening the overlying skin.

Something our patients really love about liposuction is that the treatment gets rid of the fat once and for all. With minimal downtime (typically less than a week) you’ll get right back to your regular activities and start enjoying your new body.

How do I decide which treatment is right for me?

At Gravity, we will work with you to create a treatment program to meet your goals and fits with your schedule and budget. It may be that a combination of treatments best helps to achieve your goals and needs. For that reason, a consultation is the best way to begin the process so that we can candidly discuss your wishes and limitations while helping you achieve a more sculpted figure.

Will my results last?

Although we offer a variety of means to sculpt your body, they are in no way, shape, or form meant to serve as a replacement for diet and exercise. At Gravity we believe regular exercise and a balanced, healthy diet are critical for maintaining your new toned and more sculpted appearance. Patients are recommended to maintain their weight or lose weight after their treatments to further enhance their results.  Gaining weight will only serve to undo the sculpting that has been done for you and will not allow your results to shine through.  More to the point, gaining weight after body contouring procedures may cause fat to redistribute to unwanted areas (typically to the thighs and arms in women and to the chest in men) as fat cells in treated areas are either less in number or absent.

For those that need a bit more help in losing or maintaining their weight, we offer a myriad of options to help you look slimmer and feel more fit.
