Time and the beautiful California sun can do a number on your skin. As the years pass and the sun continues to beat down on each of us, fine lines and wrinkles emerge, sunspots appear, and the skin loses the luster of youth that it once had. Combine this with sagging, loose skin and you might start looking older than you actually feel. To that end, Gravity offers a range of options for treatment of the aging face without resorting to the scalpel.
Gravity is dedicated to providing our patients with the very latest and very best options for facial rejuvenation, customizing treatments to the individual needs of each patient. We’ll work with you to determine the best approach for your needs – your skin type, cosmetic goals, your ability for downtime, and of course your pocket book. Typically a multi-modality approach to treating the aging face is key. While lasers and radiofrequency treatments may be good ways of treating loose and pigmented skin, the use of Botox to and dermal fillers is essential to help smooth out wrinkles and return volume to your face to achieve a more youthful appearance.
Our physicians have years of experience treating the aging face and can help you find the best treatment option to achieve the results you so desperately desire!

Fine lines and wrinkles
Through years of facial expression coupled with loss of skin elasticity and sun exposure, we all begin to show the signs of aging through fine lines and wrinkles. While Botox is great at helping to prevent the formation of fine lines and wrinkles, it becomes a more difficult task to treat the already static line. Fillers can help static lines at times but are not appropriate in every situation. To help improve these static lines that may not be amenable to Botox or filler treatment, we offer a wide range of chemical and technological options to help you achieve a more youthful appearance.
Fractional non ablative lasers are a revolutionary laser technology that takes years off your appearance by causing the fine lines to noticeably fade. The treated area will become tighter, softer, smoother and fresher. This FDA-approved laser works by producing thousands of tiny columns of microscopic treatment zones in your skin, leaving the surrounding skin unaffected. Following the treatment, the body’s natural healing process creates new healthy tissue to replace skin imperfections.
ResurFX for True Fractional Non-Ablative Skin Resurfacing
The ResurFX is the only true fractional non-ablative technology – one pass is all it takes. Unlike other fractional technologies, ResurFX needs only one pass to be effective, saving you time and protecting your skin. ResurFX uses a 1565 nm fiber laser and a very advanced scanner, which enables you to choose from more than 600 combinations of shape, size and density for optimal treatment results.
ResurFX with CoolScan* for Optimal Treatment
The ResurFX module has a state-of-the-art CoolScan scanner for non-sequential scanning. The patent pending algorithm places each fractional spot in a controlled manner to protect the tissue from heat accumulation and overheating. This ability is unique to the ResurFX 1565nm fiber laser. The ResurFX handpiece is equipped with continuous contact cooling, to increase patient comfort during treatment.
Whether you are considering a deeper TCA (Trichloracetic acid) peel or merely having a lighter fruit acid peel with one of our facial therapies offered by our aesthetician, we offer a wide range of acid peels to help improve the color and texture of your skin and also respect the amount of down time that you are able to take.
Two of the best options for treating sun damaged skin that shows evidence of pigment changes are Q switched lasers and IPL treatments.
Q switched lasers, also known as quality switched YAG lasers, put out short and high powered pulses that make the laser produce a high beam of light. It is these bursts of light that can be used to remove sunspots quickly and safely with minimal discomfort. The laser energy pulse, which is in billionths of a second, breaks up the pigment in the spot so it can be naturally reabsorbed and disposed of by the body. While it can take several treatments to achieve the desired results, the technology can help sunspots disappear and give you the more even textured skin that you had years ago before suffering the ravages of the California sun.
Intense Pulse Light (IPL) technology uses high intensity pulses of visible light to improve the appearance of aged and sun damaged skin. Much like q-switched lasers short bursts of light are used to break up the pigment in affected areas. IPL is a bit more versatile than the q-switched laser and can also be used to treat not only sun spots but can be used for treatment of erythema (redness) of the skin, hair removal, dark congenital pigment spots, and stubborn unsightly veins.
Facial redness and veins
Facial redness and superficial spider veins can further age a person’s face. Spider veins (also known as telangectasias) are small dilated blood vessels near the surface of the skin. Although they can occur anywhere on the body, they most commonly occur on the face around the nose and in legs. Gravity Med Spa offers various therapies to fight your spider veins and broken capillaries along with the red discoloration of the sun-damaged face. YAG and IPL laser treatments offer a range of options to help get your face looking its best.
